Free Fall Apparatus Mechanical Release

The Free Fall Apparatus allows for the controlled release of a metal ball from a maximum height of 1000mm. The timer accurately starts as the ball descends from the upper platform, providing reliable results. The release mechanism can be easily accessed, as the apparatus can be placed on a demonstration table and the person can reach the release cord. A sturdy bronze wire is inserted into a hole in the ball and it is held in place by the weight of the release cord. Pulling the cord gently removes the wire and the ball descends smoothly.
