Spirit Lamps

Spirit Lamps/ Alcohol Burners:

Spirit lamps, commonly referred to as alcohol lamps, are vital in laboratory environments. Offering a consistent and controllable flame, these portable heat sources are powered by denatured alcohol or other spirits, making them suitable for a range of applications, such as sterilization, heating and small-scale flame-based processes. Favored for precise and moderate heat requirements, they are regularly employed in scientific experiments, medical settings and educational demonstrations.

Glass burners are made of high-quality soda lime glass, and come with a lid/cap. This Lid/cap is to cover the wick, however, this lid does not stop the evaporation of spirit while they are not in use. Also, this cap should not be put on while the pot and wick are hot. Necessary care must be taken while using burners.

Burners must be used with extra precautions, and must not overfill. Hair to be tied and clothes(sleeves) should be away from burners. Before lighting the burner, make sure it is filled with the correct liquid and tightened properly. The burner should be in an upright position and must be in a well-ventilated area.
